9/11 Memorial Motorcycle Parade

I would like to thank the SFFD, SFPD, and all of who participated and donated. The patriotic memorial parade/fund-raiser in San Francisco was in memory of the victims, police, firemen, injured survivors, family and friends of the 9-11 attack. It went down Market Street, through Fisherman's Wharf and ended at the S.F. Maritime Museum. It was a great success!!! All proceeds were donated to the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation. We pulled away from Dudley Perkins Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Shop, 123 S. Van Ness Ave around 1:00 Pm; with about 200 + motorcycles in the parade this year. Nitros Mike led the pack shouting, "We love America," with the Color Guards right behind followed by Jim Whitecastle in his own Fire Engine carrying the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation kids, leading the very large procession down through the streets of San Francisco. With lights flashing, horn honking and siren blaring SFPD provided a chase car that followed at the rear of the parade. Tourists and San Franciscans waved back, thumbs up, peace signs, and hollered, "I love America!" to all the motorcycles going down the street. It was a sight to see. At the end of the parade route SFFD provided Ladder Truck Company 16, which flew a huge American flag from up above the top of the extended ladder at the end of the parade.

I want to give special thanks to Nitros Mike, he has been organizing this event by him self since 9-11-2001 and has done an outstanding job. We need more Americans like him to stand up for what they believe in and go out and show his or her colors. I hope to see more of you bikers here next year and the year after, because we need to remember the ones who have fallen and the families who have lost a loved one. America is a great and strong nation and we will over come. Come out and show your support and stand up for freedom.
